Indian-American politician Nikki Haley has been in politics for over two decades, since she was first elected to the South Carolina House of Representatives in 2004. The 53-year-old even launched a campaign for the 2024 presidential nomination in 2023 but suspended it in 2024.
Recently, Haley's Indian-origin was brought to light by a troll on X, who posted a photo of her family, trying to shame her children for their Indian-White parentage. "Has any child born from a White-Indian relationship ever turned out attractive?," wrote the account named @UBERSOY1.
In a befitting response, Haley's younger child, Nalin Haley , 24 years old, wrote a befitting reply to the troll, sharing photos of himself, a shirtless one, with the caption, "Yes, Get mogged, dork."
People in the comments of the post, came out in support of the younger Haley as well.
"Politics aside, you will not disrespect my brother in Christ like that," wrote one.
"Why are you tryna look for attractive kids? This race thing is getting absurd at this point dawg" remarked another.
"I haven’t ever seen a half Indian/ half white person who looked ugly," added another.
Who is Nalin Haley?
Nalin Haley is the younger child of American-Indian politician Nikki Haley and her husband, businessman Michael Haley . The pair wed in 1996 and welcomed their daughter Rena on June 8, 1998, and son Nalin on September 6, 2001.
Nalin attended high school in New York while his mother served as the United States ambassador to the United Nations. He is a 2024 political science graduate of Villanova University , a Catholic institution.
He went viral during his mother's presidential campaign, where he emerged as a staunch defender of his mother and bounced all ethnicity-related criticisms that were raised about her.
In April earlier this year, Nalin converted to Christianity just like his mother and was received into the Catholic Church .
“As parents, Michael and I always prayed that our children would have a faith and relationship with God,” Nikki Haley posted on social media Sunday.
“Today we were so proud to support Nalin in his faith journey as he was confirmed into the Catholic Church, completed RCIA, and received his first holy Communion,” she added.
Nalin's sister Rena is a pediatric nurse who graduated from Clemson University in 2021 with a degree in nursing and a minor in psychology. She got married in 2023 to her college boyfriend Joshua Jackson.
