PANAJI: A 17-year-old male student was the victim of a suspected acid attack on Monday at the Dhargal bus stop in Pernem while he was on his way to attend college in Mapusa.
The incident took place at around 8:30 am at the bus stop.
Police said that some unknown persons on a bike arrived at the bus stop, threw acid on the boy, and fled the scene.
Police said that the boy suffered burn injuries and was shifted to Goa Medical College at Bambolim, where he is undergoing medical treatment.
Police are in the process of regulating the case.
