Gorakhpur : A day after suspected cow smugglers killed a 19-year-old medical aspirant, Deepak Gupta, in Gorakhpur, UP Police Wednesday arrested one of the accused following an encounter while he was attempting to flee towards Nepal. The accused, Rahim, sustained bullet injuries in both legs. Police seized his bike and a country-made pistol used in the crime.
Kushinagar SP Santosh Mishra said Rahim's role surfaced during interrogation of another accused, Ajab Hussain, who was nabbed by villagers after Deepak was killed.
Rahim had eight FIRs against him in different cases, cops said. "Three other accused are in police custody and two are at large," said Gorakhpur's SSP.
