Rod Stewart flooded with support as he issues career update

Sir Rod Stewart is showing no sign of slowing day this summer, with the 80-year-old rocker taking to Instagram to issue a career update with his 1.5 million followers. The Sailing hitmaker, who has been performing for several decades, took to the platform last night to officially announce he's "loving every bl**dy minute" of his One Last Time Tour.

He penned: "The next leg of the One Last Time tour has officially kicked off and I'm loving every bloody minute of it." Sir Rod posted a series of snaps from the tour showing him wearing a metallic blazer paired with a white ruffled shirt and pinstriped black trousers. He's accessorised the classic Rod outfit with a western-style black belt and silver buckle.

The singer looks on cloud nine in the images as he's seen dancing and singing his heart out to crowds. The photographs send his fans into a frenzy, with dozens of them flocking to the comment section to show their support for the star.

Amongst the heart and crown emojis, one person penned: "We're following everything, not missing a single detail. It continues to be wonderful."

A second remarked: "See you in Mexico City and Queretaro in October!!!! I can't wait!!!!"

Another fan of the Forever Young singer penned: "You were amazing in Raleigh Rod, what a show." Someone else said: "We just saw you in Saratoga, where it was a trillion degrees and dreadfully humid, and you went on like a champ."

A superfan added, " I just saw you this past Saturday in Philadelphia, and you were amazing!!! I was so happy and sad at the same time. I have loved you since I was 5 years old, sitting in my brother's bedroom listening to your albums. I have seen you in concert close to 20 times."

Sir Rod's tour comes just weeks after his stellar Glastonbury Festival performance, during which the singer headlined the Pyramid Stage for the teatime slot in front of hundreds of thousands of people.

His fans were concerned he would not be able to pull off Glastonbury, as he had to cancel concerts earlier this summer after suffering from the flu. However, he was full of energy and charisma when his Glastonbury slot came around.
