A GB News star has released some never-before-seen footage of Charlie Kirk having an off-camera conversation, in which his "sensitive" side was shown. Fans became emotional as Ben Leo shared the short clip, showing the late US politician getting somewhat upset over comments about him online.
The pair were preparing to go live on air when they were having a friendly chat about their experiences of being in the limelight. Charlie, who died aged 31 after being shot dead in front of thousands of people, recounted an instance where he was interviewed by the president of a union. The video showed him telling Ben that her "questions were so dumb" as he recalled: "She literally, and I should have said this, just printed out my Wikipedia page and just asked every single question. There was no research, there was no thought." He added: "There wasn't even an 'hello, how are you?' but I should have expected that. But, you know.
"The passive aggressiveness is what bothered me because they were like super nice when you arrive, and then I kind of got there and within five minutes I was like 'Oh my God, they're just so fake'."
Ben shared the clip to his social media account, as he captioned it: "This off-camera chat with Charlie Kirk from May is pertinent to today. It reveals a sensitive soul. He was upset that a leftist recycled BS she found online about him - exactly what's happening now."
Fans were heartbroken after seeing the clip that showed a rare side of Charlie, who was known for being outspoken about his opinions.
One viewer wrote: "I followed Charlie for many years. He was an inspiration to me. I was hit so hard when I saw what had happened. I am pretty desensitized to stuff these days. But I was knocked for six and I prayed he would make it.
"It still feels unreal. I struggle at the moment to watch these clips where he smiles and is full of passion. You were blessed to have met him and to call him a friend Ben. We lost someone really important and special in this world. Truly."
Another added: "He was just a normal guy with morals. RIP Charlie," while one more commented: "What an awesome rare moment to watch. Really loved this. Thank you for sharing it."
The influential conservative speaker is well known for holding open-air debates on campuses across the country. Mr Kirk, 31, was speaking to students when someone opened fire at the school on September 10, according to officials.
A shot was fired at 12:20 local time as Kirk was taking a question from a student. Video shows him immediately collapse and blood can be seen on his neck. Kirk's family were all in attendance at the university campus with him.
