Death in Paradise Don Gilet's secret 'romance' with co-star that fans had no idea about

Death in Paradise fans have been stunned after discovering who star Don Gilet is allegedly romantically linked with.

Don burst onto the cherished detective series in 2024, portraying DI Mervin Wilson, and swiftly won over the programme's devoted fanbase.

Mervin travelled to the island to probe his mother Dorna Bray's (Judith Jacob) suspicious demise. By the series' conclusion, he'd cracked the case and discovered he had a secret half-sibling.

Before Death in Paradise, Don gained recognition playing villain Lucas Johnson in BBC's EastEnders intermittently from 2008 to 2024. His CV also includes appearances in Holby City, Shetland and Midsomer Murders.

Beyond his television work, Don is allegedly in a relationship with Siobhan Finneran, his co-star from the 2017 series The Loch, reports Wales Online.

Siobhan boasts an impressive acting portfolio, renowned for portraying Miss O'Brien in Downton Abbey and Clare in Happy Valley. She also brought Janice Harvey to life in ITV's sitcom Benidorm from 2007 to 2015.

The pair supposedly forged their bond whilst collaborating in 2017. Though neither has publicly acknowledged their romantic status, they've been spotted holding hands at various public occasions recently.

Adding weight to the rumours, Siobhan affectionately called Don "my fella" during a Guardian interview. Fans are utterly gobsmacked upon discovering the buzz about the alleged couple, Don and Siobhan.

A snapshot of the duo on a Facebook fan page sparked comments with one fan posting: "Aw I didn't know they were a couple, both talented actors."

Another chimed in with enthusiasm: "I LOVE Siobhan Finneran, so now I love Don Gilet even more." A third added their voice: "Hope they are happy, she's brilliant in Happy Valley, such a talented actor."

Before reportedly kindling a 'romance' with Siobhan, Don was once wed to actress Tracy Whitwell, known for her roles in Peep Show and Soldier, Soldier. The ex-pair resided in Bedfordshire and have a son named Flynn.

On the other hand, Siobhan had a 17-year marriage with British actor Mark Jordon, famed for his parts in Emmerdale and Heartbeat. They parted ways in 2014 and are parents to two children, Poppy and Joseph.
