The fallout of Becky Swain's (played by Amy Cudden) return continued in the latest edition of Coronation Street on Monday, September 15. But viewers were not fans of the focus on police storylines in the ITV soap, branding it a knock-off version of the axed police procedural, The Bill. As DI Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) tried to uncover the reason the wife she had believed to be dead was actually in witness protection, viewers took to X - formerly known as Twitter - to vent about the storyline.
"I think I'd rather be in Wetherspoon's right now than watching Weatherfield Five' O," one wrote in reference to the 1970s cop show Hawaii Five-0. "Getting a tad fed up of Corrie turning into The Bill to be honest," another penned. A third chimed in with: "Another thrilling episode of Corrie Does Casualty & The Bill!! Yawn." A fourth agreed echoed: "This Lisa story is so boring. It's like a poor version of The Bill. Please bring back the original spirit of Corrie - kitchen sink drama!"
