Peace lilies are renowned for being straightforward to maintain, but encouraging them to flower isn't always simple if you don't grasp their requirements. Don't worry, it doesn't require much effort.
Looking after a peace lily doesn't demand much work - they're happy with dry soil and can flourish in most lighting situations. Nevertheless, they won't produce their distinctive white blooms unless you take the trouble to give them everything they require to thrive.
Whilst specialist houseplant feed for peace lilies can be utilised to nourish these indoor plants, one gardening expert insisted that using rice flour would make your peace lily "explode with so many flowers".

Rice is loaded with numerous different nutrients, including nitrogen, phosphorous, potassium, magnesium, zinc, iron and sulphur, making it brilliant for peace lilies, reports the Express.
In a clip shared on their YouTube channel Plant Tips, a gardening and houseplant specialist captioned it: "Amazing result, grow peace lily with one cup of rice flour, so many flowers explode."
In the footage, the specialist started by revealing the final outcome of the fertilising trick which displays the peace lily with over nine robust and brilliant white blossoms. The specialist then demonstrated how the peace lily appeared before the tip and the plant was drooping, had no blooms and was filled with dead foliage.
To remedy this, the specialist extracted the peace lily from the pot, propagated it and repotted the plant with a growing medium consisting of perlite, coir, soil, rice husks and fertiliser. The plant guru started off by combining water with a cup of rice flour to create a thin mixture, which was then used to clean the leaves.

Following this, the rice water concoction was poured over the plant's potting mix. Fast forward two months, and the peace lily had sprouted two blooms and its leaves were noticeably greener.
The expert continued to hydrate the peace lily with the rice flour solution, even using it in a spray bottle to mist the top of the plant. Three months later, the peace lily was bursting with flowers and looked healthier than ever.
While the specialist didn't specify how often the peace lily was watered with the rice flour solution, it's advised to use it sparingly. Due to the risk of starch build-up, it's best to apply rice water to your plants only once a month. When you're not using rice water, regular tap water or rainwater should be given to them.
