CCTV footage has been released showing the outside of Jeffrey Epstein's prison cell six years after the paedophile took his own life, amid a probe into his death.
The disgraced billionaire was foundhanging in his cell at the Metropolitan Correctional Centre in New York City on August 10, 2019. He had been convicted and jailed for sex trafficking offences as well as procuring a minor for prostitution.
Roughly 11 hours of video show what life was like inside the prison on the day he was found dead as well as the day before on August 9. One brief clip apparently shows Epstein dressed in an orange jumpsuit being walked to his cell by a guard at around 7.49pm.

Coroners ruled his death as suicide by hanging at the time, but conspiracy theorists have suggested that he was murdered. However, the FBI and US Justice Department (DoJ) have concluded that he died by suicide and had no 'client list' to blackmail powerful figures.
The footage, released as part of the investigation, doesn't show Epstein's cell door but it would capture anyone walking to it, the DoJ noted. Other than the guard leaving, no one else walks across towards or away from Epstein's cell.
At around 10.39pm, a guard walked in the direction of Epstein's cell and then reappeared at 10.41pm. This is understood to be the last time anyone was in the area of the 66-year-old's cell before he was found unresponsive it in the following morning.
Investigators found "no incriminating 'client list' " of Epstein's, "no credible evidence ... that Epstein blackmailed prominent individuals," and no "evidence that could predicate an investigation against uncharged third parties," reports Axios.
In May, FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino pledged to release the tape proving that Epstein killed himself with no outside person or persons involved. The Donald Trump-backed campaign spans a two-page memo that supports the medical examiner's initial findings.
He said: “There is significant public interest. I'm just telling you what we see in the file. I just want to be crystal clear on this.
"I am not asking anyone to believe me. I'm telling you what's there and what isn't right. There is nothing in the file at this point on the Epstein case, and there's going to be a disclosure on this coming shortly.
“Not a video of him killing him. Not the actual act, but the entire MCC Bay, there was not only one camera. There were others.
"We are working on cleaning it up to make sure you have an enhanced. And we're going to give the original. So you don't think there were any shenanigans. You're going to see there's no one there but him. There's just nobody there.
“So I say to people, if you have a tip, let us know. But there's no DNA, there's no audio, there's no fingerprints, there's no suspects, there's no accomplices, there's no tips.
"There is nothing. If you have it, I'm happy to see it. The video is clear as day. He's the only person in there and the only person coming out. You can see it.”
