In the year 2007, the pairing of Irrfan Khan and Konkona Sen Sharma in Anurag Basu's film 'Life in a Metro' made a special place in the hearts of the audience. Both of them made a simple story very special with their serious acting. Now, 17 years later, Anurag Basu is taking the same story forward through his new film 'Metro in Dinon'. Konkona is also seen in the lead role in this film. This time again, everyone's eyes are on Konkona Sen Sharma. But this time, there is a big difference: Irrfan Khan. Irrfan is no longer among us. This time, Pankaj Tripathi has taken his place. This difference made Konkona emotional during the conversation. Know what Konkona shared about Irrfan and the film.

'Don't compare me...'
When she was asked during a conversation with Amar Ujala Digital if she ever saw any glimpse of Irrfan in Pankaj Tripathi, Konkona immediately said, 'Please don't ask me this question. Because it is very difficult to compare two completely different souls.' After being silent for a while, Konkona said very simply that the relationship she had with Irrfan was very special. This bond is also unique in itself. But I cannot answer this comparison. Remembering Irrfan, Konkona said that he was not only a great artist but also a very sensitive person. Working with him was an experience that cannot be felt again.
Marriage starts getting monotonous after a few years.
This time in the film, Konkona has played the role of a married woman named 'Kajol', who is standing at that point after 10-12 years of married life, where despite having everything, many things feel incomplete. Konkona says that sometimes you marry the right person, and everything is also fine. But after a few years, a time comes when everything starts to seem like a routine. Children's education, EMI, and school fees. All this starts getting monotonous. In films, we often show the beginning of love stories, but what happens after that is rarely shown. The most interesting thing about this character that I found was that she is neither a victim of anyone nor an idol of sacrifice. There is a kind of competition in her that, whatever you do, I will also do that. This is what I liked a lot about her.
Konkona never wanted to become a mainstream heroine.
Konkona Sen Sharma has always been the identity of content-driven cinema. In such a situation, it was natural that during the conversation, she was asked whether she ever thought that Karan Johar would cast her in a film with Shah Rukh Khan? On this question, Konkona smiled and said without hesitation, 'That has never been my zone. Anyway, a lot of people do very good work in that zone, but I don't think that is my strength. I am ready for any kind of story, provided the character is good and the director is good. But that dream of being a 'mainstream heroine' was never mine.'
Will Konkona's son enter films?
About her 14-year-old son, Konkona says that he cannot watch most of my films because they are a little serious. Right now, he watches films like Marvel and Avengers. But now I know him as a person. His own choice, thinking, and sensitivity are emerging, and it is a very special experience for a mother to see this. On her son's entering acting, Konkona says that if he wants to do it, I have no objection. But yes, he has to complete his studies first.

Konkona will be seen in her mother Aparna's film.
Talking about the work front, after 'Metro In Dinon', Konkona will soon be seen in her mother Aparna Sen's film 'The Rapist'. Apart from this, she has done a film with Pratibha Ranta. She is also doing a web series, 'Killing' for Hotstar.
