Long before the Jonas Brothers staged their triumphant comeback, Kevin Jonas found himself at rock bottom—financially and emotionally. The oldest of the trio recently revealed that he lost nearly all his money following the band’s dramatic breakup in 2013, a period that forced him to re-evaluate everything he thought he knew about success.

Speaking on Lewis Howes’ podcast The School of Greatness, Kevin opened up about the dark phase that followed the group’s split. The musician, who had grown up with meteoric fame and financial success, said he made several business decisions in his younger years that ultimately wiped out most of his wealth. Reflecting on that time, Kevin shared that he was left with just 10 per cent of what he had once earned, largely due to a failed business partnership and risky property investments.

He acknowledged that the downfall taught him some tough but valuable lessons about money, trust, and personal growth. Kevin referred to that period as a crash course in understanding the real worth of financial stability and sound decision-making. Despite the setback, he credits the Jonas Brothers’ reunion as a second chance—one that arrived just when he needed it most.

The band, which first rose to fame in the mid-2000s with chart-topping albums and Disney Channel hits like Camp Rock, had officially disbanded in 2013, leaving fans heartbroken and Kevin, as it turns out, financially vulnerable. Known for starring alongside Nick and Joe in Jonas Brothers: Living the Dream and Jonas, Kevin also took part in Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam before the group went their separate ways.

The Jonas Brothers first came together in 2005 and quickly rose to global fame after starring in Disney Channel’s hit original movie Camp Rock in 2008. After dominating charts and fans' hearts for years, the trio parted ways in 2013. However, they made a triumphant return in early 2019 with their comeback single Sucker, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Now, to celebrate two decades since their formation, the band is gearing up for the Jonas20: Living the Dream tour. The anniversary tour will kick off on August 10 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey — a fitting start in their home state.
