New Delhi [India], October 4 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday paid tribute to two prominent freedom fighters from Tamil Nadu, Tiruppur Kumaran and Subramaniya Siva, highlighting their sacrifices and contributions to India's independence.
In a post on X, PM Modi said, "On this day, we remember and bow to two great sons of Bharat Mata, Tiruppur Kumaran and Subramaniya Siva. Both hail from the great state of Tamil Nadu and dedicated their lives to India's independence and awakening a spirit of nationalism."
Prime Minister Modi remembered the courage and patriotism of the two leaders, noting that Tiruppur Kumaran sacrificed his life while holding national flag while Subramaniya Siva instilled cultural pride and patriotism among countless youth through his fearless writings and fiery speeches.
The social media post reads, "Tiruppur Kumaran attained martyrdom while holding our national flag and thus showed what unflinching courage and selfless sacrifice are. Subramaniya Siva, through his fearless writings and fiery speeches, instilled cultural pride and patriotism among countless youth."
"The efforts of these two greats remain etched in our collective memory, reminding us of the struggles and suffering of countless people who ensured our freedom from colonial rule. May their contributions continue to inspire us all to work towards national development and unity," it added.

Earlier today, Prime Minister Modi lauded the successful completion of the 'Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan' and appreciated those who worked on the ground to make it "impactful" and "beneficial" for women.
In a post on X, PM Modi said, "Commendable effort! Compliments to those who have worked on the ground to make it so impactful and beneficial to our Nari Shakti. This is a great example of Jan Bhagidari to improve lives."
BJP National President Jagat Prakash Nadda shared the campaign's achievements, highlighting the scale and impact of the health initiative.
"Launched on 17th September by the Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the two-week-long #SwasthNariSashaktParivar Abhiyaan concluded on 2nd October after achieving historic milestones of screening 6 crore 50 lakh women, through nearly 18 lakh health camps organised across the country. This extraordinary achievement reflects the nation's collective resolve to place women's health at the heart of strong families and thriving communities. Let us continue this momentum by encouraging every woman to prioritise her well-being, adopt regular health check-ups, and lead the way towards a healthier, empowered future," Nadda posted on X.
