Primary Teacher Vacancy: A bumper district-wise recruitment drive for basic teachers has been announced in Uttarakhand. The application process for 1,649 vacant assistant teacher positions began on November 8th. The deadline for applications is November 30th, 2025. The Uttarakhand Education Department has announced recruitment in the districts of Tehri, Pithoragarh, Udham Singh Nagar, Champawat, Bageshwar, Nainital, and Dehradun.

All districts have been instructed to recruit in compliance with the RTE and the National Education Policy. The student-teacher ratio must be taken into account. Therefore, the current student population is being considered when determining vacancies at the district level.

Age Limit
The age limit for the assistant teacher position is 21 to 42 years. Age will be calculated from July 1st, 2025. The state government will provide relaxation in the upper age limit as per the rules.

Educational Qualifications

Candidates for the assistant teacher position must have completed graduation and a D.El.Ed. Passing the Uttarakhand TET is also required.
