Nottingham Forest have dropped a potential hint about Morgan Gibbs-White's future amid interest from Tottenham Hotspur.
Spurs have expressed a desire to sign Gibbs-White this summer as they plan for Thomas Frank's first season as the club's new manager. Mohammed Kudus was signed by Tottenham earlier in the summer, and now the club are targeting Gibbs-White as their next signing.
A £60million release clause in Gibbs-White's contract was activated by Spurs, but Forest have now claimed an illegal approach was made in their attempt to sign the playmaker.

As a result, the possibility of a transfer to North London for the England international remains in limbo for the time being.
Amid the speculation, Forest have a pre-season friendly against Monaco on Saturday afternoon. As is often the case on social media, Forest's official account posted a pre-match graphic on their channels as they build up to the fixture.
In the post on X, Forest's graphic did not include an image of Gibbs-White. While it is far from confirmation of a potential transfer, it does offer a potential hint about the midfielder's future at the City Ground.
It remains to be seen if Gibbs-White will play a part in the fixture at the SMH Group Stadium in Chesterfield.
The 25-year-old has been in training with Forest this week, with the plan being for him to have had a medical with Tottenham which has since had to be scrapped.
The wait now goes on for a resolution to the transfer saga, with Tottenham still wanting a deal to be completed. If Gibbs-White does feature for Forest against Monaco on Saturday afternoon, it could offer a hint as to what may happen with his future in the days and weeks ahead.
